1) Stop writing reviews or lists entirely
2) Continue writing reviews but find a way to make them more fun
As you can see, I decided to go with the second option. I'll be back writing reviews, but things will be different this time. Here's what to expect:
- Yes, I decided to change the name of this website to Review Roundup as opposed to my old title. I thought that one was a bit long and a little dramatic. However, I couldn't change the subdomain from timetofacethemusic.blogspot.com for whatever reason.
- There will be no posts other than reviews or monthly lists. That means no more Hot Take Tuesdays, no more Revisits, and no more failed attempts at making weekly series or random rankings or top 10 lists. I won't have the time to do different posts every day and I don't want to burn myself out.
- Review posts will be different. Instead of doing a longer post for one album, we'll do shorter posts to fit multiple. Whether I choose to listen to one album for every day after release or all of them on the same day is my choice. My new reviews won't be as in-depth and will be much shorter. Why? Because it's more efficient and gets my point across without having to write too much.
- There will no longer be Single Review posts. However, I won't forgo reviewing singles entirely. On my weekly review posts, I will have my best single of the week and worst single of the week with a brief review attached to each.
- To add to this, there will be roughly one post per week with the exception of monthly rankings and year-end lists. Every album will be reviewed in one post no matter how many come out in a week. 1? 2? 5? All of them will be there. Each review will be a 5-sentence paragraph at the very least and 2 full-length paragraphs at most. Expect to see these either on Friday, Monday or Tuesday, depending on how long it takes to listen to everything.
- My monthly lists will be the same. It will include every album that I listened to ranked from worst to best along with the top 10 songs of the month.
- My yearly lists will go as planned and will showcase the following rankings. You can expect these to come around late December-early January.
- Top 10 Worst Songs of the Year
- Top 10 Worst Albums of the Year
- Top 20 Best Albums of the Year
- Top 100 Songs of the Year
I'm very glad that I'm back doing something that I used to love and finding a way to make it feel fun for as long as possible. How long this second attempt will last is unknown, but expect this version to stick around for a while. We'll start with a post featuring reviews of the Lil Yachty and Future/Juice WRLD albums. Expect that to come later today at the earliest.
