If you came on here looking for my artist review of Ski Mask The Slump God, just know that you are going to be disappointed. The main purpose of an artist review is to find someone that I don't know about and listen to them and I know the music of most of the XXL Freshman Class. I also don't want to drain my energy and force myself to listen to so much music at a time. What I'm saying is I'm canceling my artist review series. I've decided to take a new approach to how I listen to music and my reviews.
When I first started listening to music for my reviews, I listened to everything that released on Friday all at once and took notes for everything. By the time I get to the last album, the one I anticipated the most, I feel a bit tired and don't know whether to go on with it. Sometimes, it takes me hours on end to get through all the releases because I have to make notes and take breaks in between albums not to tire myself. All of my reviews are based on my first listen, so sometimes I may miss something or not go as in-depth because I felt tired and my mentality was just to get the album over with. My point is, maybe listening to everything at once is not the way to go.
This past weekend, I didn't start listening to music until Sunday because Kanye was getting on my nerves as he was late with Nas' album and that I was busy on Saturday. I decided to spread everything out throughout the week and not listen to everything on Sunday, and I must say that it was a great decision. I was actually in the mood to listen to music and not just get things over with. I was able to focus more and I felt like my past three reviews were some of the best I've written. So I've decided to go with that approach for every week of releases from now on.
Thank you for understanding.
